توراكوسكوپ

آندوسكوپهايي طراحي شده براي عبور دادن سوزني (percutaneous) از بين دنده ها به درون حفره بدن، واقع شده بين گردن و ديافراگم براي معاينه چشمي، نمونه برداري و درمان آسيبهاي غشاء ريه، حفره غشايي و/ يا فضاي بين غشاء و ريه (mediastinum) . از اين وسيله همچنين براي مكش مايعات از حفره غشاء استفاده مي شود. توراكوسكوپ معمولاً شامل يك پوشش خارجي سخت، سيستم نوردهي و كانال كاري براي كتترها و ابزار عملياتي مي باشند. اغلب توراكوسكوپها داراي يك دوربين تلويزيوني بر روي نوك خود بوده كه سيگنال ويدئويي را از آندوسكوپ به يك نمايشگر ويدئويي خارجي مي فرستد.

Endoscopes designed for percutaneous insertion through an intercostal space in the body cavity situated between the neck and the respiratory diaphragm (i.e., thoracic cavity) for visual examination, biopsy, and treatment of lesions of the pleura, pleural cavity, and/or mediastinum; they are also used to drain fluid from the pleural cavity (thoracentesis). Thoracoscopes usually consist of a rigid outer sheath, a lighting system, and a working channel for catheters and operative devices. Most thoracoscopes include a television camera at their tip that sends a video signal through the endoscope to an external video monitor.
